Quinn is mighty keen on Shrewsbury Town return
Saturday 1st May 2010, 12:29PM BST.
Jimmy Quinn has set his sights on reclaiming the Shrewsbury Town manager’s job – a week after applying for the AFC Telford United post as well.
Quinn led Town to promotion through the Conference play-offs in 2004, and has since had spells at Cambridge United and AFC Bournemouth, as well as at Norwegian side Egersunds.
He has already applied to succeed Rob Smith at Telford, but has now confirmed that he would like to return to Shrewsbury.
“I would be very interested in getting the Shrewsbury Town job back as I have been out of work for a while now and am looking to get back into management,” he said.
“I have been out since being put on gardening leave by Bournemouth, despite taking them from minus 15 points to plus eight in League Two.
“I know the set-up at Shrewsbury and the style of play in League Two very well. And Ihave watched so many games at this level this season that I think I could do a good job at the club and hopefully take them to the next level.
“There are such a lack of jobs around at the moment and this is a great one to have come up and I would be very keen to get it.”

One things for sure, if Quinny does get the Telford job, Telford fans will have to live with the fact that Shrewsbury didn’t want him..
