Aldi is planning to expand its Oswestry store

Budget supermarket giant Aldi has announced plans to extend its Oswestry store.

The company says the move would allow it to increase its product range and improve customer service.

The firm won permission for an identical scheme in 2006 but the work was never started.

In planning papers lodged with Shropshire Council the company says the expansion would bring the store nearer to what the group views as the ‘optimum’ size for a branch.
