Work has started at a Shropshire racecourse on a £1.1 million tower and building, including a members' area and restaurant.

Old offices and the old tower at Ludlow Racecourse were demolished in May.

Foundations for the new development were laid last week and steel structures put in place on Tuesday.

Course clerk Bob Davies said the work would provide a new integrity tower for the judges and stewards and photo-finish cameras. Work is expected to finish by September.
