What a big shed for such a tiny loco. Unfortunately, we can’t pinpoint the exact location as all that is written on this unfranked old postcard is ‘Shropshire & Montgomery railway’. Maybe one of Shropshire’s steam enthusiasts can drop us a line to tell us where this is, or was. The railway, nicknamed the ‘Potts’ railway, was revived in April 1911 after lying derelict for over a quarter of a century, so – as the shed looks new – the photo may date from close to that time. Enough of the winter. Let’s enjoy a summer scene. Here we are in Church Stretton years ago, looking down towards the church. There’s nobody about – perhaps they are enjoying a brisk walk in the hills. This undated postcard is probably from around 100 years ago and comes from the collection of Mrs Diana Humphreys, of Maesbrook.
