Jackfield historian Ron Miles says: "This is the most interesting photograph I have ever seen of Jackfield. I have never seen one quite like it. "At Jackfield School during the Second World War we dug for victory at Calcutts. But this was taken before the First World War, judging by the collars. It's at the Calcutts at Jackfield. Council houses are there now. They were built in 1948."

how can i find pictures from the late 70,s

Cop a load of this lot - it's the Shropshire Police football team for the 1951/52 season. The photo was loaned by Glyn Rowlands of Welshpool who says: "Any fixtures were on a friendly basis and not in a league. These generally were against Powys, Denbighshire, Cheshire and Worcestershire
