A very British scene - a queue, in this instance at Shrewsbury on March 1, 1971. The original caption was: "The motor taxation office at Shrewsbury Shirehall took its biggest 'hammering' since the start of the postal strike. From early morning to late afternoon hundreds of people joined a 100-yard long queue. For most of the customers it was a wait in cold weather of over two hours to get their precious discs."
