Pictures from the Past – January 8, 2011

Back in September 1964 (as the calendar on the wall helpfully tells us), this suave young Salopian was wondering if his laptop invention would catch on . . . Okay, it can't be a laptop, but it looks rather like one, doesn't it? This is one of a number of old pictures that John Powell, of Oswestry, is trying to identify. A previous one we published of some sort of dance or party prompted no responses, so let's see if we can do better with this. Does anybody know who this young man is and where and why the picture was taken?
