Brrr! It’s just like winter: Your weather pics
Monday 25th October 2010, 5:00PM BST.
Shropshire woke up to freezing temperatures today as the mercury plummeted below zero giving a sign that winter is on its way.
Commuters were busy scraping their cars free of ice and donning their winter hats and gloves as the thermometer dropped to -3C (26.6F) overnight.
But experts today said more autumnal weather was set to return with heavy rain and warmer temperatures over the next few days.
Today was expected to be crisp, cold and frosty first thing with a few fog patches. Later on it will be mainly dry and sunny with light winds, although cloudy.
Overnight in Shropshire the temperature is expected to drop to about 1C (34F), warming up to about 12C (54F) tomorrow afternoon, although there will be rain throughout most of the day.
More rain is expected throughout the week but overnight temperatures will be much warmer.
