Here's a view of up-to-date farming methods nearly 60 years ago. This picture, loaned by Ken Griffiths of Dawley, was taken in a field opposite Stirchley Hall Farm, Stirchley, in 1951. Mr Griffiths is driving the tractor. Sitting on the mudguard is Stephen Ward, the farmer's son, and sitting on the binder is Harry Davies. The tractor is a Standard Fordson, says Mr Griffiths. Hinkshay is in the background.
