Teen beauty spot drinkers are ramblers, not rebels
- Dave Burrows
One of these footballers is the father of a Shropshire, Wolves, and England sporting hero. Study it for a while and see if you can guess which one is the father of Billy Wright. The photo was used as a postcard and the ball reveals that it was the 1921 to 1922 season, and they had obviously won a trophy. On the reverse is handwritten: “Ironbridge football team, great uncle George and great uncle Will, standing right. Tommy Wright, front right (Billy’s father).” It was e-mailed in by Bob Herrick of Ironbridge on behalf of an elderly neighbour. “She wants to know if anybody recognises it and can add any information,” he says. He adds that great uncle George is George Beddoe, extreme right. Great uncle Will is Will Whale, second right. Both are in suits.
