Back to wartime days in Shropshire with this picture, which shows an airman who was at the Nedge Hill Station - you can see it over his shoulder. The structure near Stirchley was a fixer station, a navigation aid for aircraft. The photo came from Mrs Bess Edwards, of Shifnal, whose parents Sam and Dorothy Harris farmed at Sunnymede Farm, Nedge Hill, and Bess used to take tea to the airmen on duty in the tower, in a basket. The airman pictured is "Lee", although his surname is forgotten.
