It may have come with a hefty £3 million price tag – but this rural gem in Shropshire now has a new owner.

Webscott Farm, a dairy and livestock farm in Myddle, near Wem, was sold along with all the buildings and animals to another farming family.

Sat in a patchwork of fields, the 218-acre site between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere was sold through Berrys with Wright Marshall, and included a five-bedroom period farmhouse. Also included in the multi-million price tag was a large three-bedroom detached dormer bungalow, dairy and youngstock buildings, herringbone parlour, modern covered silage clamps and highly productive grassland capable of arable cultivation.

Chris Jones, head of rural agency at Berrys, said: "We are delighted to announce the successful sale of Webscott Farm, an outstanding dairy farm in a renowned agricultural area that has been farmed to a very high standard.

"As expected, the farm attracted a great deal of interest locally and from further afield and was eventually sold to a farming family from within the county."

Berrys said the buildings offered plenty of accommodation for dairy and youngstock.
