Letter: Westminster is a sideshow to real powerhouse of the City

In 1975, as a recent graduate in agriculture, I voted 'No' in the referendum for membership of the then EEC.

I had learned enough about the top-to-bottom corruption within that organisation to be deeply suspicious about its real purpose. In addition, the Common Agricultural Policy made no sense to me.

Naturally, the general public were kept disinformed of the facts and were scared (then as now) into following the government direction to vote 'yes'.

My suspicions have been multiplied, confirmed and reinforced since that time as the insidious globalist agenda has cast its destructive shadow across Western Europe. History shows that central planning on that scale and depth does not work, especially when undertaken without the consent of the people.

So how can our government– having surrendered most of our sovereignty to the unelected bureaucrats and the fantasy finance priesthood of Brussels – now point to the EU and say we still need to be part of that corrupt and disintegrating shambles, that failure of epic proportions?

The answer, in my view, is very similar to the answer as to why the taxpayer (current and future) was used to bail out the private criminal zombie casino banks in 2008: our 'government' (whichever party holds the title) is no more democratically accountable than are the EU commissioners.

The power lies not in Westminster, but down the road in the City and other financial centres of the world. Westminster is no more than an extravagant puppet theatre playing the longest running farce in history, the puppets being either naïve or well compensated for their cooperation.

I would encourage readers to think hard and do some research before following government directions; there is no evidence that they act in the interests of UK citizens; rather they act in the interests of a corporatocracy. I hope it is not too late to save our national identities and self determination, and to save ourselves from the delusions of the power–crazed globalists.

The road ahead will be rough either way, but membership of the EU represents a ball and chain around our ankles.
