Plan for legal action on Market Drayton ring road scrapped

Councillors have decided against taking legal action over a decision to scrap plans for a new £2.5 million ring road in Shropshire.

Market Drayton Town Council voted against the proposal at last night's meeting.

Councillors have been demanding answers after the plan for the ring road was dropped last year.

But last night's meeting heard the town council has left it too late in launching the review following Shropshire Council's decision and it would have cost at least £15,000 to proceed with it.

Councillors in Market Drayton claimed they were left out of the decision process.
