Pictures From The Past - February 23Welcome to this week's collection of nostalgia photos from the pages of the Shropshire Star.By Toby NealPublished Feb 23, 2018 CommentsMeet the soldiers of B Company of the 5th Battalion of the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry pictured at Aldershot in 1941. This picture is mounted on hard card and helpfully includes all the names of the troopers which are printed beneath the photograph, so we can say that eighth from left on the front row is Captain R.H. Gill, and as he is the highest ranking officer, and also sitting in the middle of that row, we can probably also safely say that he was the Company commander.
