My admiration goes out to all Olympians and volunteers involved in the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.
But a big thumbs down goes to Michael Gove the Education Secretary, who was forced to apologise after he was found to be misleading the public about the number of school playing fields the Tories were guilty of selling off.
His department has approved the sale of 30 school pitches.
But that’s not all that he should be apologising for.
What about axing funding for the school sport partnerships and scrapping targets for children to undertake at least two hours of PE?
This shows how out of touch Michael Gove is.
Then the out-of-touch Prime Minister David Cameron talks about using the Olympians to inspire a generation.
So, is he going to apologise after making PE teachers redundant?
Is he going to apologise to parents who now have to pay for sports clubs because their children’s schools no longer have the money to fund it?
The hypocrisy of this Coalition Government beggars belief.
