Letter: We need a clean-up
Despite the fact every household in Telford & Wrekin pays between £90 and £100 per month for council tax, which, I understand, is for public services, I would like to see where my money is being spent.

The small town of Madeley, which I love, is becoming decidedly untidy and scruffy with overgrown grass verges and the walkways between Bridle Court, a sheltered dwelling estate, and Wellsfield, Woodside, is a disgrace.
There are overgrown trees over a main pathway, so overgrown that if you are over 5ft 2ins you have to keep ducking under them to get past. I can visualise an accident soon with someone having their eye badly hurt.
The underpath by Bridle Court is constantly used as a drinking den; the evidence is smashed glass on the path. This route is used regularly by dog walkers and bike riders, both of which are now avoiding it.
Where are the police when you need them as this happens every day at about 4pm onwards?
Madeley and Woodside have a lot of lovely people. Why should they suffer because of cutbacks to our public services?

Perhaps the Borough Councillors responsible for the Wards are too busy cutting the ribbon at new shops?

Politics is about belief. Councils throughout England are making choices of how to meet spending targets. Telford & Wrekin co-operative council working with its residents has made these choices Ms.Hanley (if its a real name)should stop reading the DM ,Labour Co-operative councils work.
CHamps.
A prime example of the listening co-operative council? Any idiot knows that the co-operative council is another example of tyrannical geriatric run local government propaganda. I'm not fussed with a 'co-operative council' but would prefer an actual democracy in which people like Ms Hanley are able to exercise their democratic right to free speech without having their legitimate comments undercut by questioning their identity and choice of newspaper readership.
CHAMPS.
I find great irony in nistagmus supporting the 'co-operative council' whilst seeking to delegitimise the democratic right of the citizen to critique the government through questioning their identity and choice of newspaper readership.
