Youth club sessions have returned in line with new Covid regulations and have had a great response – but there are still spaces on the senior sessions.

Newport Youth Club launched earlier this month, with regular sessions on Mondays at The Hub near the town centre.

The Hub's manager Debbie Bundy said the junior sessions, from 5pm to 6.30pm, have proved popular and are almost fully-subscribed. The junior sessions are for children aged 10 to 13 and provide a place to make new friends, speak with dedicated youth workers and take part in games and activities.

There is space for a variety of games and activities

Debbie said: "It’s the senior session that we struggled to get the children into – it is on a Monday evening 7pm to 8:30pm for ages 14 to 17 at The Hub.

"Parents need to sign a registration form for their child on the first session so will need to do this at the start of the session. Sessions are £1 each week, and we are really open to what the children would like to do with the time there so they can suggest different activities and we will try to accommodate them as much as we can."

The sessions are led by what the young people want to do
