Representatives of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust appeared in court on Thursday in relation to the incidents, which involved patients who had suffered from falls.

Shrewsbury Crown Court heard they relate to cases dating on and before 21 July 2011 until on and after 18 November 2012.

A guilty plea was entered on behalf of the trust to the charge of failing to ensure the safety of non-employees.

The case has been adjourned until later this year when a directions hearing will be held.

Judge Peter Barrie said: "It is an important complaint and I am pleased it is being taken seriously by the health trust."

The trust did not wish to comment until the case concludes.
