New Shropshire hospitals boss takes up post
The new boss of Shropshire’s hospitals has taken up his new post in the county.
Peter Herring has been appointed as the chief executive of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, with his first day in the post coming yesterday.
The former chief executive of the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has taken on the job following the departure of Adam Cairns earlier this year.
Mr Herring was not available for comment today. But when his appointment was announced in May, he said that one of his key aims would be improving the services offered to the trust’s patients.
“The Trust is clearly making great progress in improving services to patients in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales,” he said.
“By continuing to work in close partnership with our patients, our commissioners, other healthcare providers, local authority and voluntary sector partners I am confident that we will continue to enhance the services we provide.”
He said the trust’s priority must be to continue to focus on the needs of its patients.
