Fate of badgers hangs on appeal
The fate of thousands of badgers facing slaughter hangs on an appeal against a High Court ruling today.
Government proposals for two pilot culls to tackle tuberculosis in cattle were upheld by a judge in July.
But the Badger Trust has challenged the decision.

I used to be so much for the saving of badgers, "you can't possibly kill them" I'd say. However, since moving to a small holding and seeing the devastation that TB can bring to cattle, it is heart wrenching seeing them suffer and seeing them put to sleep. One or 2 badgers with TB can cause equally beautiful animals, cattle, to suffer unnecessarily. My former opinions were based on ignorance and fairy tales of Toad Hall and the likes. It's no fairy tale seeing a cow with TB..... It's a horror story and one which can be halted if they controlled the carrying of TB even if it means culling an animal or 2 to stop so many suffering. Look at the facts and be informed before you look at badgers with Bright Eyes
