Police and three fire crews were sent to stabilise the building in Washbrook Road after a car ploughed into three vehicles on a driveway.

The crash involved four vehicles, with one being shunted into the garage of the house at about 7.20pm on Saturday.

Fire crews were sent from Bridgnorth and Wellington and included an operations officer.

Andy Bevon, crew manager at Bridgnorth Fire Station, said: "A car lost control, shot out of a junction and ploughed into three cars on someone's drive.

"It pushed the three parked cars and the one closest to the building crashed into the garage causing the garage wall to come away.

"It became detached from the rest of the building. Using our rescue tender from Wellington, they provided some support props and we made the area safe and waited for a structural engineer from Shropshire Council to arrive.

"The occupiers were getting a builder to come around the next day.

"Three of the cars were still driveable and one was recovered."
