Man injured in Oswestry hit and run

A man was taken to hospital with "significant injuries" following a hit and run in Oswestry.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision which happened on Victoria Road.

A man was crossing the road from the direction of the Co-op when he was hit by a vehicle at about 7.20pm on Saturday night.

The man, who is in his 40s, sustained significant injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police are keen to locate a silver or blue coloured Vauxhall Corsa possibly of a newer 07 onwards model which was travelling towards the town centre at the time of the incident.

Officers would also like to speak to any car garages in the area that may have recently had any enquiries concerning front end repairs to a vehicle matching the description.
