Four taken to hospital after crash near Wem

Four people had to be taken to hsopital after a two-car crash.

It happened at about 1pm today on the B5476 in Edstaston, near Wem.

Firefighters from Prees and Wem were called to the scene to free a person from one of the vehicles and make both safe.

Two ambulances and a paramedic area support officer as well as police were also called to the scene.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "From one car we treated a man in his 20s for neck and shoulder pain. He was immobilised and taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

"There were three patients from the second car, two of whom had minor injuries and one who had to be cut free from the car. All three were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
