Two buses and car crash in Mid Wales

One casualty has been taken to hospital following a crash between two buses and a car near Newtown today.

Ambulance crews also treated and discharged a number of patients at the scene of the three-vehicle smash on Kerry Road at 2pm.

A spokesman for the Wales Ambulance Service said: " We were called at approximately 2pm this afternoon to reports of a road traffic collision involving two buses and a car on Kerry Road in Newtown.

"We sent two rapid response cars and an emergency ambulance to the scene, as well as a Wales Air Ambulance.

"One person was taken by land ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

"Crews also treated and discharged a number of patients at the scene."

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed the A489 between Newtown and Kerry was closed following the three-vehicle crash.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police are in attendance at a road traffic collision which occurred just before 2pm today, on the A489 between Newtown and Kerry.

"Two buses and a car were involved in the collision."
