Telford murder probe after woman stabbed to death - with pictures and video
Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a woman was stabbed to death in Telford.
A 70-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after police were called following a report that a woman had been stabbed at an address on Sixth Avenue in Ketley Bank.
At 11.20pm on Tuesday night police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene where a 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead.
The man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for injuries, believed to be slight, before he was arrested.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy said: "We are in the very early stages of our enquiries and local residents may notice an increase in police presence as we conduct these. Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting reference 799s of November 15, 2016."
