Casualty cut free from crash on A41 at Newport

A casualty had to be cut from a car after they were left trapped in the wreckage following a crash.

The accident happened on the A41 at Pave Lane, Newport at 6.26pm on Friday night when two cars collided.

Two fire engines, including a rescue tender, were sent to the scene from Newport and Wellington.

An operations officer was also at the crash site.

Crews worked for over half an hour to free the person and both vehicles were made safe by fire officers.
