Police hunt hooded man who tried to pull woman into Telford park

A woman was attacked by a man who tried to drag her into a park in Telford.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the assault in the Hadley area of Telford on Sunday between 8.30pm and 9.30pm when the female victim was walking towards Trench Lock from the direction of Redlands Road in Hadley.

The victim had been in the park near Trench Lock with friends before she was approached by an unknown man, who shouted something before running towards her.

The suspect grabbed the victim's hand and waist and tried to pull her back towards the park before she managed to break free from the suspect and leave the scene.

Police spokesman Paul Roberts said: "The suspect is described as a black man, 6ft tall and around 20-years-old. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black tracksuit, black mask and black gloves."

West Mercia Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man matching the description in the area at the time.
