Man arrested after gas bottle thrown through restaurant window in Telford

A man was arrested for breaching conditions of bail after he tried to throw a gas bottle through a restaurant window in Wellington.

Bosses at Efes2 in Market Square were approached by a man asking to use a mobile phone at just after midnight on Tuesday morning.

When they refused he returned with a gas bottle, which he then tried to throw through the glass window.

Police were called and arrested Matthew Hudson, 21, on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Paul Roberts, of West Mercia Police, said: "Police were called to reports of damage being caused to a restaurant on Market Street, Wellington, at about 12.15am.

"Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of causing criminal damage. Matthew Hudson, 21, of no fixed abode, has been charged with criminal damage and breach of bail and was remanded to appear before magistrates."
