A three-foot high yellow Guide Dog charity box was also stolen from Just For Pets in Telford.

Staff from the store, in Bridge Road, Wellington, arrived to find a door smashed and a large amount of dog leads, dog harnesses, flea and tick treatment missing from the shelves. West Mercia Police said two men got into the premises by smashing the glass in the front door.

Duty manager Juliet Pearce said: "I literally turned up at work and found that the place had been broken into. The bottom of the door was smashed and there was debris all over the floor.

"When I got inside I could see that goods were missing from the medical aisle including flea tablets. We lost about 50 products in total including 30 dog leads and 10 dog harnesses, but what annoyed us most of all was the theft of the two charity boxes.

"There was one for a cat charity that was full of coins while the Guide Dog box is huge and colourful so we're hoping that someone has seen it dumped somewhere."

The store was raided between 10.30pm on August 8 and 5am the next day.
