Witnesses wanted to crash which left motorcyclist with 'life-changing' injuries

Witnesses are being sought to a crash near Leominster that left a motorcyclist with "life-changing" injuries.

Police are calling for anyone who saw the accident, which occured at Lawton Cross, where the A4110 crosses the B4529, near Leominster Car Auctions, at about 10.50am on August 4, to come forward.

The collision was between a grey Land Rover Defender, travelling on the A4110 from the direction of Hereford towards Kingsland, and a red Indian cruiser-style motorcycle, travelling on the B4529 heading in the direction of Leominster from Eardisland.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 70s, had suffered a serious injury to his right foot and taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he was also found to be suffering from broken ribs and life changing injuries to his leg.

Constable Steve Wood of West Mercia Police said: "At the time of the collision, the motorcyclist was wearing a white crash helmet and a yellow high visibility jacket.''

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 212s of August 4.
