Police talk person down from bridge over River Severn in Shrewsbury

A person who threatened to jump off a bridge into the River Severn in Shrewsbury has been talked down by police.

The water rescue service was on standby at Sydney Avenue, Shrewsbury, from about 8.30pm while police spoke to the person involved.

The individual is now in the care of the police and ambulance.

The ambulance service, police and fire service were all in attendance.
