Mystery man found near Shrewsbury is identified after police appeal

A mystery man found near Shrewsbury and taken to hospital in a serious condition has been identified after a police appeal.

The man, aged between 25 and 30, was found by a member of the public at about 11pm on Friday on the B5062 between Roden and Shrewsbury.

Police said the member of public was concerned for the man's welfare as he was unwell but with no visible injuries. He gave him a lift in his car but the man fell unconscious during the journey.

Ambulance services were called and the man was then taken to hospital.

Police had been unable to identify the man as he did not have any documents or a mobile phone on him.

However, after the police appeal officers said the man's next of kin had come forward.

West Mercia Police said they would like to thank those who shared the appeal.
