Firefighters tackle Telford and Shrewsbury blazes

Fire fighters were sent to tackle a house fire in Telford after a plug socket caught fire.

The fire happened in Burford last night at around 7.56pm.

When two crews from Telford Central arrived at the house the fire had been put out.

The fire service made sure the area was safe before leaving at 8.09pm.

No one was injured.

Meanwhile, a hairdryer caused a fire at a house in Shrewsbury, completely destroying the bathroom and damaging part of the bedroom.

The fire happened at a property on Winterton Way.

Crews from Shrewsbury were sent to the scene and managed to contain the fire to that area of the house.

Part of the bedroom and some of the roof was destroyed during the fire.

The incident happened on Saturday night just before 6pm and was put out at 6.45pm.

The British Red Cross were at the scene as a precaution, but no one was injured.
