There were long tailbacks on the A5 at the Shrewsbury Road junction after the accident at 11am.
The traffic meant delays for people travelling into Oswestry for the Osfest music festival.
Helen Thomas, duty inspector at West Mercia Police, said that the motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, had suffered a broken bone in the crash.
A diversion was in place and a policeman was redirecting traffic.
