Shropshire alert as aircraft's landing gear jams

A plane had to circle an airfield in Shropshire for more than an hour after reporting problems with the landing gear.

It happened at Shropshire Aero Club in Sleap, near Wem.

Firefighters and members of the Royal Air Force based at Shawbury were sent to the scene to help the plane land safely.

There were four people on board when the pilot reported problems to the base and had to circle the air strip for more than an hour until it was safe to land on Saturday afternoon. No-one was injured.
