The safe was taken from the Severn Hospice shop in Market Square, Wellington, sometime between 9am and 5pm yesterday.

Chris Ammonds, of Telford police, said: "It appears an individual entered the shop and sneaked through a door that leads to the cellar, remove a small safe from the wall and then fled with it. The thief must have left the shop via the front door.

"Staff at the shop believe that around £250, plus a number of business documents, was in the safe."
