100 at hustings

More than 100 people attended an election hustings with four of the candidates for the Ludlow parliamentary constituency.

Churches Together around Church Stretton held the event at the Meth-odist Church last night.

Candidates Heather Kidd for the Lib Dems, Jacqui Morrish for the Greens, Tony Hunt for Labour and Philip Dunne for the Conservatives faced a range of questions including queries on nuclear proliferation, social inequality and care for the elderly.

Ann Cooke, of the organising committee, said it went well and there had been a good turnout.
