Cheeky squirrel goes nuts to become the star of our Star Witness

This stunning image captures the moment a Shropshire Star reader witnessed a rather cheeky squirrel helping himself to bird feed from his garden.

The picture was taken by Paul Walton, 69, in the back garden of his home at Walcott Avenue in Nesscliffe.

Mr Walton, a keen photographer, said it was probably the best picture he had taken and he was particularly pleased to have captured the squirrel with his tongue out.

A stunning sunset or a potato shaped like Bruce Forsyth – whatever it is, we want to see it.

Star Witness is updated all the time and each month we pick one entry as our £100 winner.

As a red squirrel lover I find this picture rather offensive. What you have done is take a picture of some vermin. But it's cute and cuddly so that makes it OK. Grey squirrels threaten to totally wipe out the indigenous red.
