The old Maesydre school site in Howell Drive is awaiting re-development work.

Welshpool Police posted on Twitter: "Unfortunately, on a number of occasions over the last week persons unknown have broken into the school and caused damage inside the property.

"If anybody has any information in relation to the damage please contact Welshpool Police on 101 quoting DPP/0006/12/05/2021/01/C."

Powys County Council wants to refurbish the existing Ysgol Maesydre to create a 150-place Welsh Medium School by demolishing outbuildings, building a new school extension as well as a multi-use games area, playing field, landscaping, car park and infrastructure works.

Staff and pupils of the Welshpool’s Church in Wales primary school moved from the site earlier this year to their new school building on Salop Road, near Welshpool High School.
