Telford man in court after 71 cannabis plants found at house

A man accused of growing cannabis at a Telford house where 71 plants were seized by police has appeared in court.

Benjamin Jake Mahli, 25, faced a charge of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and a charge of producing a quantity of Class B drugs at Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The charges relate to the discovery of the plants and cultivation equipment at an address, in Westbourne, Woodside, on January 10 this year.

No pleas were given and the magistrates transferred the matter to Shrewsbury Crown Court where it will next be heard on October 22.

Mahli was granted unconditional bail until then.
