The hearing at Swansea Crown Court was told the abuse took place in the 1970s and 80s.

Fleming admitted indecent assault on 24 different girls, all when they were aged under 13.

The court heard Fleming was jailed for three years at Chester Crown Court in 1992 for nine charges of a similar nature while he was headmaster at a village school near Welshpool.

The charges Fleming admitted to this week relate to an earlier time when he was teaching at another primary school in North Wales.

The women, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will each give a victim impact statement when Fleming is sentenced next month.

Judge Geraint Walters told Fleming he should expect to receive a "significant prison sentence".

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on May 9.
