Man charged over armed raids in Telford, Shifnal and Market Drayton

A man has been charged with taking part in three armed robberies over the last week and stealing a car following one of the raids.

Mark Stephen Gillon, aged 33, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Saturday - the day after a robbery of Barclay's Bank in the Square, Shifnal, at 3.30pm, was followed by a raid on the One Stop on Shrewsbury Road, Market Drayton, at 10.20pm.

Directly after the Shifnal bank robbery a car was stolen from Tudor Way.

Gillon has been now been charged with all of the above, as well using an imitation firearm to carry out the offences.

He has also been charged with the armed robbery at Lloyds Bank on High Street, Madeley at around 3pm on March 20, again with an imitation firearm.

He will appear at Telford Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 34-year-old man from Telford has also been arrested and bailed in connection with the Madeley robbery and a 33-year-old woman from Telford has been arrested and bailed in connection with all three raids.
