The bill for the damage to a wooden bridge and the rope on the climbing frame of the park has been revealed by police investigating the attack, which is believed to have happened sometime between January 13 and January 16.
The play area was only opened up to the public last year.
Vandals broke slats on the wooden bridge as well as the rope on the climbing net.
Police are urging members of the public with any information to contact them on 101 and speak to any member of Shrewsbury town centre safer neighbourhood team.
A police spokesman said: "This mindless act was completely unnecessary and it now means that the equipment cannot be used."
