Defibrillator 'stolen' from Market Drayton Football Club had been removed to have a new battery fitted

A piece of life-saving equipment which was reported stolen from a Shropshire football club had in fact been taken away to have a new battery fitted.

The defibrillator was thought to have been stolen from Market Drayton Football Club's ground at Greenfields.

After it was discovered missing at about 10.30am on Friday, Market Drayton safer neighbourhood team tweeted:
