Charity box stolen from Oswestry shop counter found in bush

A British Red Cross charity box was taken from an Oswestry shop and dumped half a mile up the road, police said.

Officers from Oswestry Central Safer Neighbourhood Team said the box was found dumped near to Shelf Bank Close on Saturday.

Following police inquiries, it was discovered that it had been taken from the Co-operative store in Cabin Lane in the town.

Police have said an investigation, including analysing the store's CCTV, is ongoing in order to establish the circumstances.
