Man threatened with knives and iron bars in Shropshire burglary

Three burglars forced their way into a home near Bridgnorth and threatened a man inside with knives and iron bars.

The incident happened in High Street, Highley, on Tuesday.

The raiders took a shoulder bag containing the victim's driving licence, credit and bank cards, keys and an amount of cash.

The men are described as being dressed in black clothing, with their faces concealed. They were seen to be driving a dark coloured car that is thought to have left the High Street area in the direction of Kidderminster.

Detective Constable Steve Lloyd of Shrewsbury CID said: "Thankfully, the victim was not injured and I would like to reassure the local community that we are treating this as an isolated incident.

"Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the men described above in the area, or a dark coloured car being driven suspiciously at the time.
