On two occasions during the past week a small, dark-coloured car was driven down Much Wenlock High Street and at least one firework was thrown from the car on each occasion.

Police say the most recent incident was on Friday, at 9.30pm, when a firework was thrown into the doorway of the Spar shop where it detonated and caused considerable alarm and distress to staff and customers from the shop and from the George and Dragon pub opposite.

PCSO Mal Goddard conducted enquiries in the area 10 minutes after the incident, but said that unfortunately no one was able to provide any definite details regarding the make and model of the car.

Anyone aware of the registration number or make and model of the car, or who is driving it, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0825S of November 4. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
