Seven in court charged with conspiracy to murder in Telford

Seven people have appeared at crown court charged with conspiracy to murder in Telford.

Five men, a woman and a teenager appeared before a judge at Stafford Crown Court.

They are also charged with conspiracy to sexually assault a male and false imprisonment.

Stephanie Christine Titley, 25, of Willowfield; and Gavin Smith, 19, and Luke Mansell, 23, both of Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford, appeared in the dock today.

Dean Butler, 23, of no fixed abode; Daniel Doyle, 24, of Smallwood, Sutton Hill; and Nathan Peter Bates, 19, of Villa Court, Madeley, Telford were in the dock alongside them.

And a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also appeared at court.

No pleas were entered at this stage of proceedings.

All seven were remanded in custody to appear back at Stafford on December 9, when it is expected they will enter pleas.

The charges relate to an alleged incident at a house in Telford where police discovered a man with multiple injuries on September 1.

Police have also arrested a 20-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old, all from Telford, on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the same incident.

They have been released on police bail until the end of September while investigations continue.

A 20-year-old man who cannot be named for legal reasons, remains in a stable condition in hospital.
