Seven in court charged with conspiracy to murder, sexual assault and false imprisonment in Telford

Seven people appeared in court today charged with conspiracy to murder a teenage man in Telford.

This morning Stephanie Christine Titley, 25, of Willowfield, Woodside; Gavin Smith, 19, of Southgate, Sutton Hill, and Luke Mansell, 23, of Southgate Sutton Hill, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court.

The three spoke to confirm their names ages and addresses.

They appeared in connection with an incident at a private address in Willowfield in Woodside, on Thursday, September 1. They have all been charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to sexually assault a male and false imprisonment.

The victim is said to be in his teens.

This afternoon an unnamed 16-year-old along with Daniel Doyle, 24, of Smallwood, Sutton Hill; Nathan Peter Bates, 19, of Villa Court, Madeley, Telford, and Dean Butler, aged 23, of no fixed abode, appeared on the same charges.

The defendants will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Wednesday for a bail hearing before a trial preparation hearing on September 19.

A 20-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 16 year-old all from Telford, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have all been bailed until the end of September while investigations continue.

The victims remain in a stable condition in hospital.

Detective Inspector Billy Scott of West Mercia Police said: "We are continuing to investigate the incident and believe that there may still be people with information that have not yet come forward. I would urge these people to contact us straight away."
